After Hurricane Isaias, 30A home’s pro-Trump banner display is gone

A house on 30A known for its display of large pro-Trump banners is looking bare after Hurricane Isaias.

The homeowner, Marvin Peavy, says this is the first time the banners have been removed from the house since they were put up.

Last year, Walton County Code compliance officials told Peavy the banners violated the scenic corridor code and began charging him $50 for each day they remained. Peavy claimed the county code violated his First Amendment rights.

A circuit court judge later ruled in Peavy’s favor and ruled no fines would be collected.
