more than $30 million in 2020 and subsequently acquired additional property.

Their arrival did not initially appear to guarantee a warm reception at the club. In January 2021, a source told Page Six that some members opposed their admission, particularly following the January 6 attack on the Capitol.

“It only takes one member to object against any new member,” the source claimed at the time.

In the years that followed, the couple became more involved in the community.

The Wall Street Journal reported in August that Kushner had joined Indian Creek Village’s governing council. The couple also attended members’ events, while Trump received invitations from members to play golf.

“The social tide is turning,” the newspaper reported, describing them as moving closer to membership.

Their eventual acceptance, as reported by Page Six, followed years of participation in the community rather than simply their purchase of an island address.

Bezos and Zuckerberg remain outside the membership circle

Bezos and his wife, Lauren Sánchez, reportedly own three properties on Indian Creek worth a combined $234 million. Despite that substantial investment, Page Six reported that they had not yet secured club membership.

Bezos first purchased property on the island in 2023.

A source previously told the outlet that the couple would likely be accepted eventually, but that their profile would not allow them to bypass the usual expectations.

“No one is going to make it easy because he is Jeff Bezos,” the source said. “You have to go to mixers. You don’t just move there and think you can get in.”

Zuckerberg, who reportedly completed a $170 million property purchase on the island in March, was also described as not yet being a member.

The report additionally identified members of the Qatari royal family among residents who had not been granted access.

Those accounts describe applicants still waiting for admission; they do not establish that the club has permanently rejected them.

An island address does not guarantee access

Indian Creek Country Club accepts members from both inside and outside the neighborhood, and its admission process can reportedly take years.

According to a source quoted by Page Six, limited availability and strong demand make membership particularly difficult to obtain.

“There aren’t that many golf clubs [in Miami], and there is huge demand,” the source explained. “It’s very hard to get into any of them, but Indian Creek is the hardest.”

Neighbors also reportedly do little spontaneous socializing, making organized gatherings an important opportunity for prospective members to build connections.

For Trump and Kushner, the reported decision marks entry into a social circle that remains out of reach, for now, even for billionaire neighbors Bezos and Zuckerberg.
