Miley Cyrus and her mother, Tish Cyrus-Purcell, are using their influence to help women experiencing homelessness find something many people take for granted: a safe place to call home.
The mother-daughter duo was honored at the Downtown Women’s Center’s 2026 Every Woman Housed Gala in Los Angeles for their work supporting women and survivors of gender-based violence.
Through the Miley Cyrus Foundation, they have supported renovations at the center’s Skid Row Day Center, which provides meals, hygiene resources, and other essential services to women in need.
Their partnership is also helping support Rosa’s Place, a new development featuring 97 permanent supportive housing units for women experiencing homelessness and survivors of violence. The project is expected to open in 2027 and will nearly double the center’s existing housing capacity.
For Miley and Tish, this work is especially meaningful because they get to do it together. And their commitment doesn’t end with receiving an award. They have plans to continue supporting the center’s mission.
Because sometimes, the most meaningful thing you can give someone isn’t a gift or a grand gesture. It’s the chance to feel safe, rebuild their life, and finally have a place to call home.
