The Bond rumor mill is spinning at full speed. Nothing is confirmed, but here’s what’s being reported.
The reported timeline
The Hollywood Reporter reports that between three and five actors will screen-test for 007, possibly as soon as this weekend in London. Producer Amy Pascal has said the new Bond will be cast by the end of 2026. One industry insider claims an announcement could come between the last week of October and early November. That last part is a rumor. James Bond Update Gives Timeline on When New 007 Will Be Announced & It’s Very Soon – Comic Book Movies and Superhero Movie News – SuperHeroHype +2
The rumored names
One insider says the race narrowed to Jacob Elordi, Jack Lowden and an undisclosed third actor. Callum Turner and Jack Lowden are also reported among those considered for screen tests. None of this is confirmed by Amazon MGM. NMEsuperherohype
The funny part
Author Charlie Higson said last month that Elordi was “too tall” for the role, and Lowden would be an unconvincing choice. Meanwhile, Gary Oldman claimed the new Bond has already been cast, and backed his “Slow Horses” co-star Lowden. That’s Oldman’s claim, not an announcement. NMENME
About the film
The film will be directed by Denis Villeneuve and written by Steven Knight. It has no release date. euronewssuperherohype
Don’t be fooled by “Bond cast” headlines
A recent “new Bond cast” headline referred to Isaac Rouse, who was cast as a young Bond in the audio drama “Young Bond: SilverFin,” not the film. It arrives October 29. yahoocbr
Bottom line
Plenty of rumors, one confirmed audio drama, and no film announcement yet. Whoever gets it, the “too tall” complaint is now a part of Bond history.
